Talisker Dark Storm

Talisker Dark Storm 300 224 Federico Bosco

Talisker Dark Storm is a NAS (No Age Statement) from the famous Skye distillery. It is aged in renewed barrels, that should give off intenser notes of spices and smoke. Originally only sold in travel retail and is available in one liter bottles.

Tasting notes: TALISKER DARK STORM

Nose: it starts out very light, but after a few moments it intensifies. The whisky reveals the classic Talisker falvors: vanilla, black pepper, marine notes and wild berries, that span out over a slightly sweet base, with a hint of acidity. Then come aromas of leather, bacon and peat.

Palate: it starts slightly muted here as well. After a few seconds notes of spices, wood and citrus emerge, where the lemon preveils. It reveals also flavors of orange jam and licorice root. The peat, albeit present, results measured and doesn’t cover the aromatic palette.

Finale: of medium persistency. Astringent. Wood and spices, particularly the black pepper, are perceptible. Followed by dried fruits and prunes.

Overall, the Dark Storm is, in spite of its name, all but an extreme whisky. Suitable even for newbies, it releases the classic characteristics of the mother house, without excesses and without a particularly developed complexity. It is a not demanding and simple drink.
