Springbank 21 2018 deserves special attention: the aging of 21 years is something remarkable for the Campbeltown distillery. Released in March 2018, it is made with an unusual combination of ex-Rum and ex-Bourbon barrels of first fillings. The Scottish distillery is known for a wise use of also unusual barrels.

TASTING NOTES SPRINGBANK 21 2018
Nose: The classic notes of Springbank are mitigated and stand out after a few moments: soft unripe fruits (green apple, yellow apple, Williams pear), then move on to spicy notes, ginger and green pepper. Slightly mentholated after several minutes of airing it out.
Palate: Round and equipped with an excellent intensity. The spices are well persistent throughout the course of the sip.
Finish: medium-long persistence. Of good complexity. Spices, cocoa beans, sour red fruits and bitter orange are perceptible.
This 21 years gives us the most refined facet of this whisky, usually decided, but here more complex, elegant and sometimes gentle. A product to try and to not miss out on.
