This week IND Beverages announced the launch in the US market of Shibui Japanese Whisky. Shibui’s motto is “We Don’t Distill, We Discover,” with them sourcing whiskies from distilleries all over Japan. Shibui prides themselves on finding excellent product, and then releasing it under their brand name. Some of the whiskies from Niigata are actually Scotch whiskies which were brought to Japan for aging. The blending of aged Scotch whisky with Japanese whisky has been a practice for decades.
