Straight from India, a product far from the Scottish and American standards due to a very pronounced evaporation of alcohol. This entails a great difficulty in proposing very aged products, while vice versa young products tend to be ready with a only few years on their shoulders. This whisky has been selected by an independent English bottler, That Boutique-y Whiskey Company, known for small batches and 50cl bottles with very special labels.

TASTING NOTES DEGUSTAZIONE PAUL JOHN 6 YEAR BATCH 2 (THAT BOUTIQUE-Y WHISKY COMPANY)
Nose: peculiar, reminiscent of a medium age armagnac. Notes of cooked fruits, pear, and dried fruit, all on a noticeable milk chocolate background.
Palate: oily and spicy, paprika, pepper and black pepper. Constantly growing to a medium to high intensity. The spiciness remains the main flavor, together with cooked and dried fruits: figs, dates, raisins, red apples.
Finish: medium-long and not very complex. Relevant spices and sugar cane make it feel like a rather sweet rum.
The gradation certainly does not help as well as the sometimes tiresome spices. Overall, a product that certainly does not showcases its age, but at the same time it doesn’t show any maturity.
