Partagas Serie D No. 6

Partagas Serie D No. 6

Partagas Serie D No. 6 1600 900 Giuseppe Mitolo

The Partagas Serie D No. 6 was launched in 2014 to respond to an ever-growing demand for short and thick cigars. The vitola de Galera is D No. 6. It is both sold in a 20-count Semi Boite Nature box and a 5-count Aluminum pack.

Partagas Serie D No. 6

It is usually rolled in a Colorado wrapper with brown reflections, but it is also possible to find cigars that veer towards the Colorado Maduro. To the touch, it is silky with not too accentuated veins. However, it suffers from a somewhat fluctuating production constancy, especially regarding the filling: sometimes you can run into cigars that are underfilled. The overall quality is good.

Partagas Serie D No. 6

Partagas Serie D No. 6: the cold draw reveals well-defined aromas of wood and nuts enriched by earthy nuances.

Partagas Serie D No. 6

Once lit, it is decidedly sapid on the palate, with a slightly bitter vein—notes of earth, spices (pepper in particular), and wood, all of equal intensity. Strength is medium (3/5).

Towards the second half, the bitterness increases in intensity, becoming predominant over the sapidity. There are no appreciable variations going on in the flavor profile. Strength increases, becoming medium-high (4/5).

Ultimately, the Partagas Serie D No. 6 is a simple but satisfying smoke characterized by contained strength and well-defined aromas. The evolution, of course, is minimal, and the bitterness, which becomes prevalent, makes the cigar particularly rough in the second half. Simple, but in pure Partagas style.
