Macanudo Inspirado Red Robusto: well-defined notes of earth and cocoa, with spicy nuances, on the nose.
It start rather salty, with a light acid component. A powerful earthy character dominates the first third, with wood, mineral notes and nuances of leather well-present. Strength is medium-full (4/5).
In the second third, the acidity gives way to a slight bitterness, next to the unchanged saltiness. The flavors evolve into coffee, wood and earth, the latter less intense than in the beginning. Strength remains unchanged (4/5).
The flavors remain unchanged, compared to the central section, in the last third. While next to the notes of wood and earth, it develops a spicy and peppery (black pepper) characteristics. Strength grows slightly (4.5/5).
Overall, this Macanudo Inspirado Red Robusto is a muscular product. It expresses itself on well evident and pronounced aromas, sustained by a good strength right from the start. The evolution is not very broad, if we take the number of flavors into account, but acceptable considering the size. It lacks a little in elegance, with some rustic aromas.
