Just announced by Brown-Forman is the Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel 2020 Special Release Barrel Proof Rye. After two successful years of the Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Heritage Barrel releases, American Rye whiskey lovers get their chance. “This barrel proof offering is as close as you can get to being inside a barrelhouse and sampling for yourself,” says newly appointed Master Distiller Chris Fletcher. This limited edition Rye whiskey is made using the distillery’s first new mash bill since Prohibition. Consisting of a mix of 70% rye, 12% malted barley and 18% corn.
The 2020 Special Release is limited to 200 barrels. Bottled at full proof, which will vary from barrel to barrel, at 125 to 140 proof. The Rye is charcoal mellowed and then aged in new white oak barrels. Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel 2020 Special Release Barrel Proof Rye hits shelves in late November. The 750-ml bottle will have an MSRP of $64.99.
