TASTING NOTES GLENDRONACH 18 TAWNY PORT CASK

Nose: the first fragrances that reach the nostrils are hints of very ripe, almost deteriorated fruit, which remain present for several minutes, followed by a fairly solid dried mushroom note. Then, it continues with spices (saffron and cinnamon). The aromatic palette is complemented by some aromatic herb and barnyard notes.

Palate: from the very beginning the spices (cardamom) and a vegetable vein (rhubarb) are perceptible, which then turn to the deteriorated fruits (a mix of pear, apple and strawberry) that were already perceived in the nose. Orange jam and some citrus are also present. A rustic hint of dark rum completes the flavor profile. The alcohol content is well perceivable, even a little too much.

Finish: of medium persistence. Once again ripe fruit, vanilla and spices.

The 18 Tawny Port Finish is one of the few Glendronach to disappoint on practically all fronts. Scorching disappointment.
