Visually, the Diademas Finas is very attractive, thanks to a bright Colorado Claro shaded wrapper. Construction, as in typical Davidoff tradition, is impeccable from every point of view.
Davidoff 50 Years Limited Edition Diademas Finas: before lighting the cigar, the scents that are perceived are very light, mostly earth, leather and vegetal scents. The opening is distinctly salty. The flavor profile is complex: in addition to the well-defined woody and vegetable notes, there are also nuances of walnut, cocoa and cellulose. Strength is medium (3/5).
In the central part, the sapidity diminishes to give way to a non-cloying sweetness. Cocoa, wood and mineral, with the usual note of cellulose in the background. Strength remains unchanged (3/5).
In the last third, the sweetness gives way to a delicate bitterness. The flavors are structured again around cellulose, leather and wood, followed by a slight hint of white pepper. Strength remains unchanged (3/5).
Overall, the Davidoff 50 Years Limited Edition Diademas Finas is a convincing cigar. The characterization of the aromas is typical Davidoff and the cigar succeeds in capturing the attention of the aficionado through a very complex, intriguing and elegant flavor profile. The smoke is thick and creamy from the first puff. Balance between strength and flavors is great and that goes for the evolution as well. A cigar worthy of the Anniversary it intends to celebrate. Recommended as a morning smoke, with a clean palate, to be able to appreciate all the nuances.
