TASTING NOTES CAOL ILA 2002/2017 VALINCH&MALLET – HIDDEN CASK COLLECTION
Nose: peat emerges immediately, along with spices and black pepper. Tobacco, a good number of citrus fruits and marine sensations complete and add thickness to the profile. Sweetness is underlined after several minutes.
Palate: discreet intensity, the peat supports a fruity sweetness. Peach, yellow melon and strawberry are perceived, followed by spices, including black pepper, which grow slowly in intensity.
Finish: long and intense. Peat, spices, fruit, mineral and smoky.
The particularity of this Caol Ila 2002/2017 Valinch&Mallet – Hidden Cask Collection resides in the fruity side, which remains engaging and well structured. Emphasizing the balance between the components, which gives rise to an excellent harmony.
