TASTING NOTES Caol Ila 1984/2017 Cadenhead’s

Nose: the prolonged aging has made the peat tame, which from the perceptible from the beginning. Mineral and elegant, slightly coastal peat. The citrus fruits appear after a while and are close to yellow fruit in general: cedar, lemon, apricot, peach jam. The nose remains fresh, with menthol and licorice.

Palate: mineral and crisp immediately, it releases spices, including black pepper and ginger. There are also salty hints, followed by citrus (cedar, lemon and orange jam). Then you can feel the peat, light and coastal, and it finishes with dark chocolate and espresso.

Finish: long and full intensity. Peat, black pepper, citrus and mineral notes are perceived.

The Caol Ila 1984/2017 Cadenhead’s is a long-aged Caol Ila. After a certain period of aging, each cask creates a completely different, unique and meaningful story. This whisky is exceptional and has no flaws, ensuring an excellent enjoyment. Complexity is not difficult, great balance, with a very good gradation.
