Balblair Distillery has announced its age statement collection would be hitting shelves in the US this November 2020. This collection was first released in other markets back in June 2019. The Age Statement collection is separate from its previous vintage only releases. This collection has a 12, 15, 18, and a 25 year version. Each single malt is bottled at natural color, and without chill filtration. Each of the releases are bottled at 46% ABV (92 Proof). In addition to the age statements on the bottle, the brand has also redesigned its packaging.
Balbair 12 Year
The youngest of the releases is the 12 year. The whiskey matures in American oak ex-bourbon and double-fired American oak. It has an MSRP of $69.99 per 750-ml bottle.Balbair 15 Year
The next in the series is the 15 year. The whiskey starts maturing in American oak ex-bourbon, then it finishes in first-fill Spanish oak sherry butts. The 15 year has an MSRP of $119.99 for the 750-ml bottle.Balbair 18 Year
The 18 year is the same process as the 15, but gets 3 more years or rest. First aged in American oak ex-bourbon and is then finished in first-fill Spanish oak sherry butts. This comes in at an MSRP of $209.99 for te 750-ml bottle.Balbair 25 Year
The last is the oldest with 25 years of age. First the whiskey matured in American oak ex-bourbon, then finished in Spanish oak oloroso sherry casks. Beginning in 2021, Balblair will be available in additional markets.
