AVO Regional West Edition

AVO Regional West Edition

AVO Regional West Edition 800 450 Michel Arlia

The AVO Regional West Edition is one of two releases from the brand, the other being the East Edition. It is the first time that AVO has created a Regional Edition. What is also a first for the brand, is the boxes being made out of cardboard. Both cigars will be available from today on. For more info on the release, click here.

AVO Regional West Edition

Visually, the wrapper is of a Colorado Maduro shade. It is oily but somewhat rough to the touch. Construction is ok, although the foot has more give when squeezed, then the rest of the cigar.

AVO Regional West Edition

AVO Regional West Edition: the cold draw reveals a mix of spices and hay. Once lit, the cigar opens with the mix of spices from the cold draw, paired with nutty nuances.

AVO Regional West Edition

The nutty flavor carries over into the first third, while the spices are only perceptible through the retro-hale. Notes of wood and earth appear as well, underlined by some cream. Strength is medium-light (2/5). The burn needs to be touched up already.

In the second third, the core flavors revolve nuts, wood, and earth. There are some fleeting herbal notes perceptible in some puffs. The profile seems somewhat muted, with the strength staying medium – light.

Getting to the final third of the cigar, there isn’t really much else going on when it comes to flavors. Strength increases slightly, becoming medium (3/5).

Overall, the AVO Regional West Edition doesn’t deliver the type of smoke that you are used from the brand. The flavors are few in numbers and lack intensity. Another issue is the burn of the cigar, that needed to be corrected in every third.
