TASTING NOTES ARDBEG PERPETUUM
Nose: hints of peat and white pepper, joined by a salty and marine (iodine) sensation, followed by aromas of yellow fruit (pear in particular) and citrus.
Palate: light entry, contained intensity. It is spicy (black pepper) and salty. The citrus aroma is still present, together with a rich smokey note, followed by wood.
Finale: medium persistence. It unleashes notes of menthol, licorice and wood. Lastly, hints of coffee beans get delivered as well.
Despite the alcohol content, it is a not particularly intense whiskey. The youth is felt throughout, due to a not particularly structured aromatic palette. Not much complexity.
