Auriverdes is the special bottling that Ardbeg has released in 2014. There are several sizes of this whisky: the classic 70 centiliter, the 4.5-liter version and the 70-centiliter golden bottle version, now a collector’s item, with prices well above 2000 euros. The name recalls the colors of the Brazilian national football team.

TASTING NOTES Ardbeg Auriverdes
Nose: peat, coastal notes and plenty of iodine are firmly in the foreground, joined by peppery and herbal notes. There is also a mineral vein that mix with the major notes of peat. After a few minutes, it also outlines hints of citrus.
Palate: powerful, structured and consistent with what is perceived on the nose. From the very beginning, spices and licorice can be perceived, which then turns to a fruity side of citrus fruits (mainly lemon). After a few moments, there is a woody sensation mixed with the iodine and sea notes, that were already found on the nose.
Finish: of medium duration and persistence. It releases iodine, peat and some nuances of citrus fruit. Lastly, the spices and wood are outlined.
A solid and enjoyable whisky.
