All the special bottlings for the Feis Ile 2017 have been announced. We already talked about the Lagavulin and the Caol Ila (click here for more info), lets take a look at what the other Islay distilleries have presented.
Bruichladdich offers three different bottlings:
- Port Charlotte Transparency (56,4%, 1000 bottles): 12 casks of 7 different typologies contribute to the production of this malt. Each cask stayed on Islay for the whole aging process, this whisky is not cold filtered. It’s not cask strength either, a small amount of Islay water was added.
- Two different Bruichladdich Valinches: 2008 Bere Barley and 2006 Organic Barley (the name stems from the variety of barley used in the production of this spirit).
Laphroaig, traditionally, present its Cairdeas 2017: it is a cask strength graded bottling aged in smaller casks then usual, denominated Quarter Casks. The Cairdeas 2017 has a gradation of 57,2%.
Bowmore presents three different bottlings:
- Bowmore Feis Ile 2017 – Oloroso Sherry & Bordeaux Wine Casks limited to 2000 bottles.
- Bowmore 26 Year Old Port Cask, only 200 bottles.
- Fill You Own – 19 Year Old 1st fill Oloroso Sherry Puncheon, a bottle to fill up yourself, directly in the distillery.
Jura, although it is geographically not on the island of Islay, participates at the festival with its Tastival 2017: 51% for this cask strength, a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-port casks.
Kilchoman presents only one bottling at 58%: it is the union of two casks, an ex-bourbon and an ex-sherry, held at cask strength. Limited to 877 bottles.
Bunnahabhain presents two different products:
- Moine Port Pipe Finish 2004, 1596 bottles.
- American Oak 1997, 528 bottles.
Ardbeg presents its new Kelpie. For the preview and more information, click here!
