Espinosa Laranja Reserva Escuro Robusto Grande

Espinosa Laranja Reserva Escuro Robusto Grande

Espinosa Laranja Reserva Escuro Robusto Grande 1600 900 Michel Arlia

The Espinosa Laranja Reserva Escuro is the first line extension to the highly acclaimed Laranja line. It was unveiled during the annual La Zona Palooza event, held at the warehouse in Miami. Due to the success, they were shortly released after that.

Espinosa Laranja Escuro Robusto Grande

The cigar is rolled in an opaque Maduro Oscuro shaded wrapper, that is rustic to the touch. Construction is good with quite a firm box-press.

Espinosa Laranja Escuro Robusto Grande

Espinosa Laranja Reserva Escuro Robusto Grande: the cold draw brings coffee and pepper to the palate. Once lit, the cigar opens with earth and black pepper.

The first third continues with earth and black pepper. Wood and a mix of walnut and hazelnut are added to the profile as well. Strength is a solid medium level (3/5).

The combination of earth, wood, and black pepper is still in the foreground, with the mix of nuts in the background. The smoke itself has also become creamier, and citrus notes are coming through, which appear more frequently the further we get into the second third. Strength increases slightly (3.5/5).

In the last third, the citrus notes have become more present. While the wood and earth still dominate, the black pepper has morphed into chili spice. Notes of balsamic herbs join the profile towards the end. Strength increases further and becomes medium-full (4/5).

Overall, the Espinosa Laranja Reserva Escuro Robusto Grande starts like most Maduro cigars, with a “dark” flavor profile. Once past the first third, it surprisingly turns into a smoke with a unique flavor profile that is complex, with a long finish.
