We mentioned the new releases of Johnnie Walker in September. The bottle reviewed today is the Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Rum Cask Finish. It is a blended whisky from the Lowlands and Speyside that spends a few months in barrels that previously contained Caribbean rum.

TASTING NOTES Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Rum Cask Finish
Nose: initially it releases sweet aromas, with an evident alcoholic vein present. Acetone and a slight spice of white pepper are soon joined by sour yellow fruits: apple, pear and banana. Echoes of exotic fruits (pineapple).
Palate: the entry is delicate. Some spice, mainly white pepper, is mixed with yellow fruits (pineapple and pear). A sensation that is reminiscent of agricultural rum is perceptible and well present. Brown sugar, coffee beans and cocoa follow.
Finish: of medium persistence. Black pepper, spices, cocoa and yellow fruits are perceptible.
