TASTING NOTES Ardbeg 1991/2016 Signatory Vintage
Nose: very complex. The peat is particular: we can clearly smell it, but it has been refined by the long ageing process. Boiled eggs, bacon, smoke, gasoil and citrus fruit. Licorice and a slightly mentholated note.
Palate: the complexity is growing. Briny: oysters, shellfish, black pepper and peat. Lemon peel and licorice.
Finish: peat, salt, black pepper, red fruit, spices, licorice and soy sauce. Very long.
It’s a very complex and well-balanced spirit. A memorable product.
