Monday 27 February is the opening day for the 2017 XIX Festival del Habano, that will be held as usual in Havana, Cuba. The featured brands will be H.Upmann, Montecristo e Quai d’Orsay.
H.Upmann will present the Gran Reserva Cosecha 2011, and the cigar should be the Sir Winston.
Montecristo will add a new line: 1935 (the year the brand was born). Three cigars will belong to this new line:
- Dumas, 49 x 130 mm (5.1″)
- Leyenda, 55 x 165 mm (6.5″)
- Maltes, 53 x 152 mm (6″)
Quai d’Orsay will have two more sizes that will be introduced in the regular production (nowadsy only 2 are the formats made: Imperiales e Coronas Claro):
- Alma, 54 x 134 mm (5.2″)
- Gourmet, 50 x 101 mm (4″)
On the 27th there will be the welcoming dinner with the launch of the Gran Reserva Cosecha 2011 di H.Upmann. In the following days it will be possibile to visit the factory “La Corona” and “H.Upmann”. There will be also a tour to the plantations in Vuelta Abajo (Pinar Del Rio).
The International seminary and the Quai d’Orsay night will be on wednesday 1st.
There will also be the usual Habanos Sommelier and the master class, held by the Cuban torcedores.
On Friday there will be the Gala Dinner, that will feature once again the Montecristo Brand (like 2 years ago, for the 80th anniversary of the brand). The humidor auction will close the dinner and the Festival, as tradition.
